Synopsis: Palm Trees from Above revisits the Quilombo dos Palmares (a maroon community) and Colonial Recife through the journeys of Kofi and Dádiva. A Black man born free in the midst of slavery and a female artist disguised as a man in a patriarchal world—their crimes will make them partners and, inevitably, friends.
